KeymasterIn general terms what is the meaning of the term resource?
Choose any 3 key resources within a computer system and describe the impact if the resource is limited. If applicable, describe how the operating system plays a role in sharing the given resource

ParticipantThe resource is a source, supply, or support that can be used for making benefits or profits.
Video card- Also called a Graphic card, is an expansion card that generates the video signal sends graphical information to a video display device such as a monitor and tv.
CPU- Central processing unit, is the main processor which is composed of main memory, control unit, and arithmetic logic unit.
Hard drive- Hard disk drive, is a component that stores all the data on our computer, from files to software such as documents, pictures, music, videos, programs.

ParticipantProcessor:
With the impact if the resource of the processor supposedly being limited, the processor would manage to run as hard as it can to its maximmum size therefore making the PC alone run slowerRAM:
If the RAM data or storage tends to be limited, then again, same with the processor, it would try to manage to fill all its data onto a small and its maximum size therefore making it hard to collect data on the pc.Graphics/Video card:
If a graphics card is limited, then the visuals and the actual display from the pc to the monitor wouldn’t be as good as it may be leading it up to how limited the video card may be.Overall, these 3 key resources would have to have a very strong resource if it were to be limited because it wouldn’t expand to a greater resource leading it to be faster, therefore it not only won’t be faster, the whole system would tend to become slower. The OS also plays a key role because if the other resources were to be limited, or slow in other words, the OS would have a hard time running all these and it would take a bit more time than a normal PC.

Participanta source of supply, support, or aid, especially one that can be readily drawn upon when needed.
RAM- can slow down your computer if you don’t have enough CPU to do the requested task.
CPU- The CPU is essentially the brain of a CAD system.

ParticipantYour computer has many types of resources. They include the CPU, video card, hard drive, and memory. In most cases, the term “system resources” is used to refer to how much memory, or RAM, your computer has available.
Central processing unit (CPU), principal part of any digital computer system, generally composed of the main memory, control unit, and arithmetic-logic unit. It carries out and controls the computer program’s instructions by performing input/output (I/O) operations, basic arithmetic, and logic. An essential part of any computer, the CPU receives, directs, and processes the computer’s data.
RAM is short for “random access memory” and while it might sound mysterious, RAM is one of the most fundamental elements of computing. RAM is the super-fast and temporary data storage space that a computer needs to access right now or in the next few moments. The faster the RAM, the faster the processing speed. With faster RAM, you increase the speed at which memory transfers information to other components.
A hard disk drive (HDD) is a non-volatile computer storage device containing magnetic disks or platters rotating at high speeds. It is a secondary storage device used to store data permanently. The hard drive’s role in a computer is to serve as a local data mass-storage device. Its size is only relevant to how much data in can store. While larger hard drives tend to perform faster than smaller ones, this is because they tend to be newer and benefit from other technological improvements.

Participant– The term “resource” refers to all of the items in our environment that help us meet our needs and wants.
-The operating system (OS) is a program that controls how a computer’s resources are spent among other programs. The central processing unit (CPU), computer memory, file storage, input/output (I/O) devices, and network connections are all common resources. Scheduling resource use is one of the management activities to avoid conflicts and interference between applications.

ParticipantCPU – CPU is basically the thing that makes things in process. It is the brain of the CAD system. It is in the part of the control unit that is in charge of controlling/keeps memories.
Hard Drive – It is the thing that restores data which can include videos, photos, or files.
Memory – Stores data and programs in digital devices.

ParticipantCentral processing unit- Unable to fetch instructions and execute them to process instructions.
storage- There will be insufficient memory.
peripheral equipment- user can’t to interact with the computer.November 12, 2021 at 3:00 am #7195Andrew
ParticipantThe resource is a material or a supply that we need in our environment.
Hard drive- The hard drive is where all your permanent computer data is stored. Whenever you save a file, photo, or software to your computer, it is saved to your hard drive.
Operating systems- Software that supports basic computer functions such as scheduling tasks and, running applications.
CPU- The part of the computer that retrieves and executes commands.

ParticipantCentral Processing Unit (CPU): The CPU is basically the brain of the computer.
Hard Drive: The Hard drive is basically where the computer store its memories.

ParticipantResources can mean or refer to anything that is available and meets our desire. Any physical or virtual component of limited availability within a computer system is referred to as a system resource or simply resource, in computing. Resources include all connected devices as well as internal system components. Files, network connections, and memory areas are examples of virtual system resources.
CPU: The Central Processing Unit. The processor, also known as the CPU, gives the computer the instructions and processing power it needs to function. The faster your computer can complete tasks, the more powerful and updated your processor is. If CPU is limited, no matter what you’re doing, your processor will be limited to a lower speed, generating less heat.
Hard disk drive: A hard drive is a piece of hardware that stores all of your digital files. Digital content on a hard drive includes documents, photos, music, videos, programs, application preferences, and the operating system. Limiting your hard disk drive can cause your computer to slow down, resulting in freezes and crashes. If there isn’t enough virtual memory space left to act as an overflow, memory-intensive operations can cause the computer to freeze.
RAM: RAM (random access memory) is a type of temporary computer storage that allows data to be received and read almost instantly. Instead of being written to the permanent hard drive, when you start a program, it is temporarily stored in your computer’s memory (or RAM) for easy access. If it is limited, your computer’s performance will degrade. That’s because, if your computer runs out of memory, it will compensate by using hard drive space as “virtual memory.”

ParticipantCPU- CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It’s the portion of a computer that retrieves and executes instructions. The CPU is essentially the brain of a CAD system. The CPU is often simply referred to as the processor.
Video Card- The integrated circuit that generates the video signal sent to a computer display is also known as a graphics card. It includes a graphics processing unit (GPU), which is a processor dedicated to image creation, as well as a digital-to-analog converter and memory chips for storing display data.
Hard Drive- A hard drive is the component that basically stores all of the digital content. Your documents, pictures, music, videos, programs, application preferences, and operating system represent digital content stored on a hard drive. Hard drives can be external or internal.

ParticipantIn my opinion, resources are something you need or use to stay alive or resources for something to process.
CPU – CPU or the brain of the computer is very important in a computer, without a CPU your computer won’t even work. When building a computer you must invest a good amount of money in CPU to match your use. If the CPU is limited and it is overworking it will become hot, around 70C-90C will cause the computer to shut down itself.
Power Supply – The power supply is also an important part of computer building. When building a pc your CPU and GPU will have watts recommendations, and you need to add both CPU and GPU watts. You need to find a power supply that supports the number of watts or else the power supply won’t keep up and end up shutting down the computer.
Motherboard – The motherboard is the most important part of the computer in my opinion. The motherboard is where the CPU, GPU, RAM, and cables sit. You need a powerful motherboard that will support your CPU because now there are two CPU brands competing against each other (Intel and AMD) if you go with AMD you need a motherboard that supports an AMD CPU and not Intel. You also need to make sure that the motherboard supports the speed of your RAM or else your RAM won’t use its maximum power or lack power.
